Janine Kupsch (she/her)

Hi! I’m Janine (or J9), and I’m a tattoo artist and illustrator currently living in Alberta, Canada. I love art, 90’s hip-hop, fashion, pop culture, and tequila. I’m currently travelling and doing guest spots at some of my favourite shops across Canada (check my travel page for updates), and will be doing conventions across North America. I’m so grateful to have found my dream job in tattooing.

I grew up in small-town rural Alberta, and have been drawing since I can remember. I have a certificate in Visual Communication Design and Illustration from Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, Alberta, and worked as a graphic designer before I started tattooing in 2015. I enjoy tattooing in almost any style, but I especially love bold/bright colours, botanical illustration, animals, pop culture tattoos, and blackwork scientific illustration.

I’m happy to work on ALL bodies, and would love to hear how I can help you feel safe and have a great experience.

When I’m not tattooing, you can find me travelling, going to live shows, hanging at the beach, or working on art at home with my sweet little hairless cats. I can’t wait to meet you and tattoo you!
